A PERT chart assists a product manager in analyzing a project’s tasks and estimating the amount of time necessary to perform each activity. Using this data, the product manager may calculate the shortest amount of time needed to accomplish the whole project. This data also assists the management in developing a product budget and determining the resources required to complete the project. PERT charts utilize nodes, which are spheres or rectangles that represent project events or milestones. These nodes are connected by vectors or lines that represent different jobs.
