What is the Difference Between a Product Backlog and Sprint Backlog?

A Product Owner is a professional who manages the Product Backlog and is entirely responsible for keeping it up to date. When a product is developed, it adds to the Product Backlog. Sprint Backlogs are a subset of Product Backlogs since all Sprint Backlogs are generated from Product Backlogs. As previously stated, the Scrum technique adds additions and updates to the product in the form of Sprints. The Scrum Developer creates sprints in one month. The Scrum Master holds a Sprint Planning meeting before the start of a Sprint in which the Product Owner describes the most essential Product Backlog Items. The Developer chooses what things may be produced during a Sprint, and a Sprint Backlog is created as a result. The Sprint Backlog lists the items or features that must be obtained before the conclusion of the Sprint. A specific Sprint objective is also established so that the team understands what is anticipated at the conclusion of the Sprint.

The Sprint Backlog is owned by the Developer since they decide how much functionality will be included in the next increment and the work that has to be done so that feature can be moved to the “Done” increment. The Sprint Backlog includes all of the work that the Developer determines is required to fulfil the Sprint Goal. To guarantee that ongoing improvement is taking place, the Sprint Backlog comprises one high priority process improvement identified in the preceding retrospective meeting. Subject to the Sprint Goal, the Developer has the power to update the Sprint Backlog during a Sprint. What is Backlog Grooming?
