Product differentiation is a marketing strategy used to differentiate a company’s goods or services from those of its competitors. Successful product differentiation is recognizing and presenting a product’s or business’s unique attributes while emphasizing the various contrasts between that product or company and its rivals. Product differentiation is synonymous with building a compelling value proposition to make a product or service appealing to a target market or audience. Product differentiation, if effective, may provide a competitive advantage to the product’s seller while also increasing brand recognition.
